Premier Houseboats are pleased to present Fireflair, a beautifully decorated static houseboat, offering character, space and economical living. Fireflair was originally commissioned by the war office, and has also seen active service as a fire boat on the Thames before being tastefully converted to a houseboat.
The upstairs accommodation is split into two parts. The beautifully decorated lounge has space as well as a warm homely feel, with classic wooden panelled walls giving a traditional feel to the room. The many windows allow plenty of light. Next to this the owners have created a comfortable office area which can be separated from the main saloon when needed. Glass doors lead to a fitted kitchen/dining area, with plenty of work top and storage space. Again there are plenty of windows allowing lots of natural light and giving a light and airy feel. This kitchen comes with fridge, freezer and oven, and also has a log burner and space for a dining table.. A panelled stairway from this room leads to the downstairs accommodation.
A door leads through to a large double bedroom, again beautifully fitted out with wooden panelling and plenty of built in storage. There are opening portholes on both sides, that not only provide light and airflow, but also act as an authentic reminder of the boats character and history. A door leads from this bedroom to another double bedroom also beautifully fitted out and with built in storage . A door leads from this room to a large storage area.
A second door from the stairway leads to the family bathroom, extremely well fitted out in a U shape with the bath placed in the centre. The bathroom also has a toilet and hand basin, and a doorway leads from the bathroom to a utility room, that could also easily be a third bedroom. This area houses the washer and dryer. The boat is fully centrally heated using kerosene, and is extremely well insulated throughout, making it very economical to heat. All windows and doors are upvc double glazed units.
The boat has comfortable deck space at both ends, and has been well maintained by the current owners, regularly dry docked to be painted and have anodes replaced when needed. This was last done in 2018. This is a lovely example of a well maintained and comfortable family home, at a very competitive price. Fire flair enjoys good accommodation which offers comfortable living, whilst retaining her character .
