Premier Houseboats are pleased to present Gentle Giant, a beautiful Dutch barge that has been lovingly and creatively converted, on a mooring at the stunning Roydon Marina Village. This is a leisure mooring, however you are able to stay on the boat for as long as you wish, and the mooring can be transferable subject to the agreement of the marina.
This lovely barge was brought over from Holland in 2013 after having all work done highlighted after a full out of the water survey. She was then completely refurbished internally before being moved to her current mooring.
Great thought was given to the conversion to create a stylish and spacious home, extremely comfortable to live in whilst still retaining the feel of a boat.
The open plan living area is a delight, with good lounge space, dining area, and a beautiful kitchen, with plenty of storage and work space. the kitchen comes with sink, built in fridge and freezer, and an electric oven and gas hob. there is a separate utility room housing a washing machine, boiler and further storage. The lounge has a wonderful log burner capable of heating the entire boat when needed.
From this main living area a corridor leads to the second cabin, which has a single bed that converts to a double when needed. Next to this is the bathroom, which has a full sized toilet, hand basin and shower. Further along is the main cabin, a spacious double with plenty of storage.
The entire conversion has been extremely well done and regularly maintained, with floorboards throughout and portholes which allow a great deal of light and also good airflow when needed.
Externally there is good deck space, and the the exterior of the boat has also been extremely well maintained. The Daf 100hp diesel engine provides plenty of power for cruising, and has been well looked after.
The Roydon Marina village is an idyllic location on the river Stort, offering secure mooring in the beautiful Essex countryside, with handy train links into Liverpool Street Station.
Overall, a beautiful barge home in an extremely scenic and convenient location
